ESSENTIAL RULES YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU PRICE YOUR ART!

MANAGE YOUR SALE PRICE CLEVERLY

ESSENTIAL RULES YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU PRICE YOUR ART!

One big challenge an artist can be facing as a first step to start selling art online is pricing it. Don’t worry, things will be clear for you, at the end of this post, if you keep in mind  the following rules and apply it to your pricing strategy.

  1.  Know your competitors’ prices and do some research about their artwork:

As they say: '' keep your friends close and your enemies closer''. Put yourself next to your laptop and do your research about artists who sell the same artwork as you.

Having a global information about prices of artist’s similar work than you will guide you to create a full evaluation about your work regarding the price, the quality and your target customers.

  2.  Give yourself a living wage:

Being an artist is not a cheap work to do. You need to add materials and equipment to your living expenses.

Start by making an hourly wage for you and record how long your work takes from you  to finish it. After that, make a reasonable estimation of your costs.

  3.   Know the Market Value:

Pricing your art lower than the value of the brand will affect your business badly. This will make  it harder for to increase your art price later when you get more customers.

Give value to your art based on your earned skills and price it wisely. Do your market research and make sure your prices match with the market value.

  4.     Consistency is crucial:
Make sure that the price of your direct artwork compliment with the online products. In  this way, you can create a balance between your gallery and its online version.

      5.  Intersect between feelings and facts:

Don’t interfere your feelings when it comes to Money! Give a high price for the piece of work you feel it deserves more without justifying it. Let your artwork talks itself.

     6.  Seek the right moment to increase your sale price:

As an artist, improved skills should come with increased prices for your brand artwork. You might increase your selling prices yearly or for your best-selling artwork. However, keep consistency in your work.

           7.  Stay firm with your prices:

Don’t let people negotiate with you about your prices or drive you to decrease it. There is no low price for talent and creativity.

Keep your artwork value high so you can gain more profit with maintaining a strong image of  your artwork.

THE DEFINITE GUIDE FOR THE USE OF PROCEATE IN MAKING DIGITAL ART THAT SELLS

MARKET YOURSELF AS AN ARTIST

THE DEFINITE GUIDE FOR THE USE

OF PROCREATE IN MAKING

DIGITAL ART

THAT SELLS

As an artist, I have started thinking more and more digitally on how to create digital art that
sells actively, anywhere, for anyone, anytime!

Gratefully, all what is necessary for creating digital art that sells (in Etsy and Society6)
for me( or anyone else) is my Apple Pencil, iPad Pro and Procreate application.
I have discovered, day by day, that Procreate is such an amazing little app that simply has
powerful tools to create worthful digital art as I never did before.

Therefore, I have started learning how to use it effectively via Domestika (the ideal place
for online learning where you can enjoy the Procreate app abilities professionally).

The first class that I have joined was Óscar Lloréns’s Digital Illustration with Procreate.
I advice you to start with it as it is delivered to all Digital Artist Levels interested in
learning a complete course on Procreate, since it covers all the necessary options from the
basics to help you building a bright future in digital art.

here.

Realistic painting by Procreate

The next class I joined was Jaime Sanjuan Ocabo’s Realistic Painting and Illustration with

Procreate. He is such an eager teacher who knows how to cue the attention of big fans

of Procreate like myself and use valuable techniques and tips to create a realistic still-life

painting with different textures and materials.

Actually, if you are interested in taking only ONE class from the listed courses, I would

recommend Introduction to Procreate which helps you to take your illustration studio

anywhere you want with the leading app for iPad.

3D miniature worlds with Procreate

If you want to add fun to your learning experience of Procreate, I highly recommend Santiago

Moriv’s Creation of 3D Miniature Worlds with Procreate and Cinema 4D where Santiago

will guide you how to design, model and texturize a 3D miniature set beyond imagination.

After that, if you enhance your skills with it, you could sell your work in the best online 3D

marketplace such as: TurboSuid, CG Trader, Shapeways, Cults3D, 3DSquirrel,

Renderosity,Sketchfab.

Naturalist animals with Procreate

After gaining more experience and getting along with Procreate, I recommend you taking

Roman Garcia Mora’s class of Naturalist Animal Illustration with Procreate which makes

you learn how to illustrate the animal world in detail from your iPad and divulge it visually.

iPad lettering for beginners

Now if you want to enhance your potentials in lettering with Procreate as I did. I suggest for

you Daniel Hosoya’s class of Introduction to Lettering with Procreate. You can feel the

passion that he has toward his work on how to create fascinating digital drawings of letters.

One of the main things why I admire Procreate a lot is that I can easily export my work in

a variety of formats ( PDF, JPG, PNG…or even a video!) and save it in my desktop so I can

make the final touches of my piece of work in  Adobe Illustrator. After that I share it on

social media (facebook, Instagram, Twitter) with my friends.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO HAVE
